Operating Every Sunday
The Hamilton Model Engineers are open every Sunday providing train rides for the public, around our tracks at Minogue Park. We run weather permitting from 10:30am - 3:00pm (with a volunteer lunch break from 12:00pm to 12:30pm).
With over an acre of park area, on-site parking and areas for picnics and seating, a trip to our track is a family-friendly event, no matter ones age or interests.
Fares
Every individual who travels on our trains is counted as One Fare. Tickets are available every Sunday we are open, from the Ticket Office. Tickets do not expire, and can be used at anytime. Please note, that children under the age of 2 ride for free, but they must be accompanied by a fare-paying passenger. Ticket options are as follows:
- Single Fare - $2
- 10 Fares (Concession Ticket) - $15 (Best Value!)
- 60 Fare (Party Pack) - $75
We accept Cash & EFTPOS only, no credit cards taken. All funds from our running days, events and donations go directly towards our facilities and railway. Not one HME member has been, or will be paid. Our volunteers aren't paid not because they're useless, but because they are priceless!
Covered Shoes Policy
Here at the Hamilton Model Engineers, we have a strict Covered Shoes Policy, which has been enforced from November 2018 due to Health & Safety Concerns. Please read carefully below to make sure you abide by our policy, and avoid disappointment on the day.
Bare Feet (No Shoes) - Bare Feet or No Shoes are strictly banned. Anyone who wishes to ride without footwear of any kind will be politely refused a ride.
Jandals/Open Toe Footwear - Jandals & Open Toe Footwear are permitted, but you ride at your own risk. Please do not be offended if you are briefed before your train ride by our station staff, about the risks of Open Toe Footwear.
Closed Toe Footwear - Closed Toe Footwear is the strong recommendation we make when riding our trains, for the utmost in safety.
